A couple of days ago I was approached by someone from Amigos Restaurant in Malta (or it’s just someone trolling). I am guessing they found me by searching in Google for anything realated to Amigos Malta since my blogpost about the poor SEO work on the Amigos.com.mt website is ranking in the top 3 for just about anything related to Amigos, Malta.

I work full time with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) in the online gambling market and made that post a while ago mostly to see how well it would rank for various terms in the local market. At the moment that particular post is ranking in the top 3 spots for just about any “Amigos Malta” related searches.
I am sure I would be able to help you get the official site ranking better than my current blogpost so that you start recieving the traffic instead of me. I have spent about 15 minutes looking at the way your site is structured and at the moment I’m not surprised that you aren’t ranking in the top 10 positions as there are some major stuff that needs fixing. The things that needs to be fixed is all “behind the scenes” stuff so you wouldn’t have to change anything about the actual design and look of the site.
If you are interested in hiring me to do the SEO work for your site I would be happy to do it. I can obviously not do it for free so I will need to know the keywords you would be looking to rank for and I will send you a quote for the job.

So far I haven’t been contacted by anyone from Amigos which made me think it’s either of the following two options:
- Amigos don’t want to pay for SEO
- Someone is trolling my blog
Until today I was pretty sure it was just someone trolling for whatever reason but then I decided to check out the Amigos website and noticed that they had added the All in One SEO Pack for WordPress and changed the title tag from Amigos.com.mt to “Amigos Restaurant Malta”. This change makes me pretty sure it was the actual Amigos people contacting me for free SEO advice.
While installing the All in One SEO Pack and changing the title tag is a good start it’s not going to cut it if they want to be able to rank for anything other than just Amigos Restaurant Malta, if even that.
It might seem like I am on a witch hunt here trying to target Amigos Malta for some reason but that’s not the case. In fact I love the food there and I would be happy to recommend everyone to visit their establishment. BUT! I can’t stand bad SEO and if the people at Amigos are paying someone to fix these things for them they are being ripped off, no matter how little they are paying.
To Amigos:
Here are a couple of hints to improve your rankings (free of charge)
- Learn about description tags and keyword tags and implement them on your site
- Start a Facebook page
- Start a Twitter page
- Get people to link to your site
- Add text to your homepage, not only images
If you follow this advice you should be ranking before my blog for the terms your are targeting within a couple of weeks. If you need further help you can just email me but I will charge you a Beef Fajita for my services.
