It’s now day number 6 of my “Coin Project” that is the latest in my list of crazy ideas, but at least I managed to start this one and I am planning to stick with it for the entire year. I managed to find €0.05 on day 1 but since then I’ve had kind of a dry spell even though I’ve been to both the supermarket and local pubs, both places which are usually great for finding dropped coins.
The other day as I was picking up my wife from our good friends Jonas and Lenah I was actually given a €0.10 coin from my 7-year old friend Aiden. I know my rules state that I have to find the money myself or it won’t count towards this experiment but I just couldn’t bring myself to turn down a very nice gesture from a young boy. This meant I now had to find a way to justify the fact that I had just taken money from a 7-year old to fund my little experiment so just made up the title “Assistant Hawker”. According to my new and updated list of rules I am now allowed a one time contribution towards this experiment from an “Assistant Hawker” and that someone is Aiden with his €0.10 contribution to my cause.
Everything Found Goes to Charity
Since I almost never see a project through I have decided to donate five times the amount found over the next year to Unicef. This means that if I manage to collect 10 Euro from this project I will donate 50 Euro to Unicef. This is a good way to keep me motivated to follow this through as I would have to be a major douche to give up after a couple of months when I have promised to give money to charity.
Day 6 of the Coin Project
Money Found: €0.10
Total Amount Found: €0.15
Current Amount to be Donated to Unicef: €0.75

You, my dear friend, are the Larry David of Malta. Great project and love the initiative with Unicef!
Just thought of something: Project 7 – Trying to become the Prime Minister of Malta (seriously). You’ll do a great job.
